To Richard & your Team,
Thank you so much for the training sessions.
On asking the team members who had the privilege to attend for feedback, it was unanimous’ for example,
“The hospitality, accommodation, meals and service were excellent.
The team events were well organised and Coordinated, they were made to be fun and as such we formed stronger bonds within our group”
I will follow-up with a broader range of feedback to your team as they all come in .

Hi Suzanne
I just want to say how much my my team and myself enjoyed ourselves. It was such a great day. Many thanks to your staff. We will definiately contact you again for another session”
Here are some of the comments my team members.
Kind Regards
—————-
Yesterday was very interesting. When doing the exercises it made you realize that we all need to act as one not as individuals in some areas. I also found that at first nobody was really listening to each other but as the day wore on you could see the changes in people and they started listening to each others ideas. Some people were more competitive, some were just followers watching and waiting. On the whole I thought it was an excellent day because it made me realize that we are a great team and that we do have respect for each other.
————
It tells us that every piece of advice is important, it is worthy of trying. we get to know the team members more. I hope we can organize more soicial events.
——————
I thought our team building activites were awesome, very positive experience, everyone had a laugh and a good time made us think and work together in a way we dont really get to in an office environment, thanks Merribrook team.
————
I Thought it was UNREAL!! and SOO much fun!! it was unbelivably fun fun fun. I Want to sincerly and very appreciatly Thank You advisors and the Merribrook people on how suprising, different, positive, involved, fantastic and fun yesterday was. I cant thank you enough guys.
Thanks Heaps!!!!
—————
I thought it was heaps of fun. It was great to see everyone laugh together and working as a complete team. I cant wait to do something like this again.
————–
Was good, brought the team together.
Plenty of strategy and plenty of laughs, a healthy day.
—————————
It was a great day enjoyed being a little physical and having a challenge to work out how to get things across, through and out of things. As well as seeing others enjoy themselves and having a laugh.
————
I thought it was great how we actually worked together to sort out the problems when everyone had a say.
It was really productive…

Very enjoyable good to see how the rest of the team does things.

Hi Suzy
The only feedback that I can give is that you guys are absolutely GREAT!! All our staff members had a wonderful time and only had good things to say, I have not had one complaint.
Personally, I would like to thank you for making me look so good. The feedback people have given me is a reflection on yourselves as everything was seamless which is due to your fantastic organisation.
I had a ball, Merribrook feels like a home away from home. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and Merribrook itself is just a stunning place to be!!

Hello Suzanne
On behalf of the Ravensthorpe Wrap-up Team, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to both yourself and Hamish for a FANTASTIC day!
As you can imagine, telling a group of South Africans we were going on ‘Safari’ certainly opened myself up to a lot of stick, however everyone really got into the spirit of the day which eventuated in Friday becoming laugh-a-minute between the teams.
As always, Merribrook has excelled, and we all look forward to future events.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves immensely…. They thought all the activities were great and especially at the beginning and the end when Richard had us all in a group to kick things off and to end the day….made them all feel very comfortable.
For myself - again I think the same above…. It was great and very well organized. You and the team were awesome to deal with and very friendly…. We will definitely be using you guys again… I will be sending out a little survey to our people about the whole conference and the activities, and if there is anything in particular about the afternoon we had with you, I will forward onto you.

Great Southern Community Housing
All staff thoroughly enjoyed the teambuilding activities in spite of some people feeling nervous prior to the trip. We had a post teambuilding discussion and staff were surprised at how much they challenged themselves to do events they felt were beyond their capability. There was also a clearer sense of the skills of the different team members and an overall understanding of how we work as a team.

Momentum Partners
Momentum Partners 2009 Annual retreat involved a half day team building exercise called the “Safari Challenge” at Merribrook in Margaret River in August 2009. This was no ordinary run of the mill team building “been there, done that” experience. You know the kind, throw a ball around to each other and step outside your comfort zone.
Similar to the urban race series, the team building involved a variety of challenges which tested well established work relationships and made very strong new ones within our group. It was competitive without dummy spitting and wholesome fun without singing Kumbayah round a camp fire. For some teams it was the sprinting and running around that was the highlight, for others they didn’t even break a sweat and managed through tactics to complete most of the challenges and win!
Our staff comments included:
“I really enjoyed it, probably better than most other team building experiences I’ve been on due to the physical ‘running around’ type aspects. I’d definitely recommend it to others.”
“Amongst the best team building exercises I’ve ever done - good fun as well as team building What differentiated it was the way it had roles for all sorts of people and really did require everyone to work together. No other exercise has done this as consistently. I’d definitely recommend it to others.”
“I know this isn’t very team spirited, but I’d love to go back with a crack team and sprint the whole thing to pick up the max points. Just to prove it can be done…Maybe we could compete against other corporates?”
“I thought the activity was superb, it was really well done and our guide Richard was excellent. It was far better than any team event that I have done in the past.”
“It was amazing, being able to lead the team in 2 challenges was a great boost of confidence!”
“I had heaps of fun, and certainly felt more of a bond with the people on my team as we worked together through the process.”
My personal highlight was hearing the staff talk about the afternoon for the next 2 days with such enthusiasm.
I cannot recommend this activity enough.

“Personally I felt that the training program was very well facilitated. It was definitely much more than we had all looked forward to and it kept us very well engaged during the entire session”.
“The time machine task was excellent. It was fun, competitive and helped extend relationship’s with team members”.
“I enjoyed the fact that at the end of the day I learnt a lot about getting to know our team mates better, that the knowledge that we have gained can be applied in future situations and most importantly the fact that the entire session was engaging on an individual level made it all the more enjoyable”.
“It was great to get away as a team and do something fun, not completely work related”.

Alinta Assist & Rheem
On behalf of myself and the staff at Alinta Assist and Rheem, we would like to extend our sincere thanks for a weekend to remember.
Where do we start? The location was absolutely beautiful and accommodation was of a very high standard.
The friendliness and professionalism of your team was truly outstanding.
All the meals that were served were of a 5 star standard which was a high topic of conversation the whole bus ride home.
As far as Saturday’s team building challenges went, it was evident that they were thoroughly enjoyed by all staff members and many topics learned that we will continue to utilise in the daily runnings of our business.
A thank you to each of you would be an understatement. The weekend went beyond all our expectations and we look forward to seeing you all again soon. It is definitely something we will look into again in the near future.
Yours sincerely

We’ve had some great feedback from everyone regarding the afternoon activities. I think it was great we all could get together and have a laugh doing some crazy tasks, and also see each other in a different light that we don’t get the opportunity to do here at work! I would love to do something like this once a quarter/month!
Kind regards and thanks again for a great day!

Department of Fisheries
On behalf of the Corporate Services branch of the Dept of Fisheries, I would like to say a big thank you to you, Richard and the rest of the Merribrook team. It was a fantastic day and the games were really well organised and run - it was a shame that it had to finish so early. I had so many wonderful comments when back in the office on Friday it was amazing. Everyone (even the doubters!!) told me they had a great time and it has seemed to have improved the mood of the branch already which was the aim of the day. So once again thanks and hopefully we will get to see you at another Fisheries team development sooner rather than later.
Best wishes

Dear Lorraine, Richard, Mick, Tina and Mike
A big thank you to the “Merribrook Team” for a fantastic learning experience during our recent DAFWA Dairy and Beef Team training program at Merribrook.
I use the words “Merribrook Team” as you guys certainly practice what you teach! Your professional team approach was evident right from the start of our booking enquiry with Tina providing excellent service and feedback. Then we arrived to a glorious facility and very welcoming smiles from all at Merribrook.
Your introduction to team development was highly effective Richard and set the scene for our DAFWA guys to be prepared to step out of their comfort zone in the knowledge that their team mates would support them.
Can’t forget the excellent Merribrook food…..delicious and wholesome, just what was needed for enthusiastic and active team participants (please thank your Chef for us).
The Safari Challenge is a credit to you guys. Both the course and its activities are in harmony with your incredible block of paradise. The encouragement of Richard, Mick and Mike no doubt contributed to our three DAFWA teams scoring very high course scores (who says winning isn’t important!).
It was great catching up with you again Lorraine - you are the perfect hostess. Many of our team members have commented to me how welcoming you were and appreciated your genuine interest in them.
After a fantastic evening - great food, great (too much?) wine, plenty of “bonding” and some open and frank team discussions we surfaced for a hearty breakfast before heading to what I knew would be one of the highlights of our training - the abseiling.
This was where Mick came into his own as his obvious passion for this experience and his enjoyment at helping others experience this thrilling and challenging activity (thanks Mick, we will be back!). It was great to see every team member challenge themselves with this activity supported by their team mates.
We will be recommending your facilities and training program to our colleagues and friends. My only problem is how I improve on our training experience for next year!
Warmest regards
John Lucey, Dairy Team Leader, July 2008

Destination Event Management
Merribrook successfully coordinated a fabulous team building activity for Tupperware in April 2008. DEM worked closely with Angus from Merribrook and delivered a fun and exciting VIP Activity Day in the form of a Scavenger Hunt. The whole day was executed well, starting with a briefing for all 140 participants at the Hotel. Professional running sheets of the proposed schedule was provided regularly as amendments were made to the program. The idea was that the participants would see as much of the city of Perth as possible. The layout of the program was put together brilliantly incorporating several Perth landmarks where pictures opportunity’s were available. Stops included Kings Park Skywalk with morning tea, North Fremantle Pavillion for Tupperware Lei Making as well as a wonderful lunch at the Indiana Tea rooms. Every minute was accounted for. The attention to detail and effort put into this day was very much appreciated. It was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.
Thanks Angus, it really was a great day!
Kind Regards,

We would also like to acknowledge and thank Lorraine for her assistance throughout the program. Thank you again for helping to make our retreat a huge success and a memorable experience for all of us.

Agribusiness Research & Management
Just a note to let you know that the feedback from the 10 staff from our vineyard and vegetable production operations has been extremely positive. They all found the balance of physical activity and ‘mental exertion’ in a team environment both enjoyable and very informative. Also thanks for taking the time to understand a bit about our business and making the course directly relevant to this.
June 2003, Neil Delroy, Managing Director, Agribusiness Research & Management
Rusty Australia
Just a note to pass on my gratitude regarding our training day held at Merribrook on Monday the 11th of August 2003. The day was an integral part of our winter sales conference. The Rusty crew had an absolute ball, everyone loved the location and facilities and I had a lot of great feedback. Many cynics at the start of the day were raving about how much they had enjoyed it by the end, and the pamper pole in particular was a topic of many conversations throughout the week! Most comments I received were that it was great to do something different that was challenging and fun, not just being stuck in a training room.

Royal Australian Navy
Many thanks to you and your team for making our workshop last week such a resounding success. The Merribrook experience was all I had hoped it would be my staff and I were able to relax, enjoy the tranquillity and really get the creative juices flowing. I am about to start collating the mountain of information and notes that we brought back. Please convey our gratitude to the staff, including your external consultants and, of course, the caterers, without whom no gathering of submariners is complete. We’ll be back

Defence Corporate Support Centre
It’s rare, but good to see an organisation that embodies the philosophies it espouses. We, the members of the Defence Transfield Team, were particularly impressed with the organisation and support provided by you and all at Merribrook. I have taken the liberty of highly recommending Merribrook to a number of my professional and personal associates. Thanks again. I hope that we might take the opportunity to take up other Merribrook challenges.

Just a short note to express our sincere thanks to you and your team for a fantastic afternoon of activities held at Burswood Park for our Assistant Managers Convention on Tuesday 4th May 1999. Feedback has been outstanding for all participants, it was a fun action packed afternoon where everybody got involved and was certainly a talking point in the evening at dinner. Once again, thank you for organising such a fantastic afternoon. We are in the process of collecting evaluation sheets from all participants and would be only too happy to pass on some comments for your interest.

Just a short note to thank you and all the team for an amazing afternoon of ice breaking activities on the lawns of Cape Lodge. It was a fun, action-packed afternoon and it certainly loosened up the group. Everybody got involved and it was the talk of the table that evening at dinner, if not throughout the entire program. Thank you so much for the enormous effort that went into organising such an afternoon and for your contagious enthusiasm. I look forward to the pleasure of working with you both again soon I hope.
